Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are thin, protective coatings applied on the chewing surfaces of your child’s back teeth, where tooth decay often occurs. Sealants fill in the deep grooves that are hard for your child to properly clean and where cavities and bacteria tend to hide. The sealant acts as a protective barrier between your child’s teeth and harmful bacteria, helping improve your child’s chances of staying cavity‑free.

How long do sealants last?

Sealants may last several years before they need to be reapplied. Dr. Sun will check your child’s sealants at each preventive hygiene visit.
